The Shape Club

A sanctuary where performance meets poshness
VERIFIED LUXURY
The glitzy peninsula of St. Tropez may be where the jet-set circuit convenes each summer, flitting between swanky beach clubs and restaurants, but just a few minutes away from the village, Lily of the Valley’s Shape Club gives a different proposal — one of France’s, and perhaps Europe’s, most comprehensive wellness escapes.

Away from the superyachts and sports cars, the plush retreat is more Provence, less Riviera, with rooms shrouded in pine trees and lush foliage and views stretching across the wooded Cap Lardier and hills in the distance. Embracing three pillars (weight-loss cuisine, sport and treatment), expert therapists guide guests toward curated therapies and approaches intended to aid in longevity. Programs are divided into four-, seven-, 10- and 14-day plans with an emphasis on improving physical fitness, optimizing longevity, detoxing and weight loss. Everything from a consultation with an osteopath to personalized eating plans and coaching sessions is offered to help guests achieve their goals.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Spanning more than 21,500 square feet, The Shape Club is equipped with a semi-Olympic heated outdoor pool, a Technogym fitness room, two fitness studios for training sessions, a Pilates reformer studio, a cryotherapy chamber and a Nordic circuit with a Finnish sauna, a hammam, a cold plunge and a snow shower. Guests can take part in contrast therapy at leisure or opt for a guided immersion with a Wim Hof method-trained coach leading the session.
  • The four programs have very specific goals: Weight Loss focuses on losing pounds safely and sustainably; Sport works with you on your physical fitness and muscle recovery; Detox centers around a light diet, yoga and other activities that promote relaxation; and Better Aging offers ways to optimize your longevity.
  • Developed in partnership with nutritionist Jacques Fricker, the concept isn’t about restriction; its focus is on enjoying protein-rich food intended to help with the weight-loss process, so it still seems as much a vacation as a wellness escape.
  • The Shape Club developed its own scrubs and mud wraps composed of ingredients like Icelandic volcanic sand and pine and a green mud wrap with seaweed and thyme that are perfect after a session in the steam room or sauna.
  • The luxury spa offers an impressive 40 indoor and outdoor activities per week, including sunset Pilates, TRX, e-bike tours on the Cap Lardier hills, trekking and aqua boxing. The Sailing Club also delivers a mix of family-friendly water sports like transparent paddleboarding, canoeing and windsurfing.
