When dreaming up the design for Lily of the Valley, acclaimed architect Philippe Starck wanted it to feel more like a village, less a hotel, incorporating an eclectic trio of styles: the ancient Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the architecture of Provençal abbeys and a California villa. Natural materials like wood and leather blend harmoniously with the Mediterranean’s native vegetation, allowing the untouched hilltop locale overlooking the sea to be every much the star as the 38 rooms and six suites.

Divided into what Starck intended to seem like petites maisons ("small homes"), each unit features a terrace that shows off sweeping views of the sea or neighboring Cap Lardier’s hills, with pine trees offering a natural curtain of privacy. Just beneath the hotel, eight pool suites take on more of a Palm Springs bungalow feel with loftlike designs and bedrooms coated in warm wood and spacious, plank-lined terraces opening to a private garden and pool. The pièce de resistance, however, is Villa W, whose infinity pool has a 180-degree panorama of the sea.

Incorporating a philosophy developed with nutritionist Jacques Fricker, Lily of the Valley's Shape Club offers four programs at four different durations, ranging from four to 14 days, intended to assist with weight loss, boosting fitness performance, prioritizing self-care and enhancing longevity. Cupping, acupuncture, reflexology, acupuncture and cryotherapy are also available.
In addition to an outdoor heated pool, the luxury hotel features a Technogym-outfitted fitness center and coaching studios, plus indoor and alfresco group classes, varying from e-bike tours along Cap Lardier’s trails to beach workouts to cardio boxing. The sailing club also has daily watersports lessons like paddleboard yoga and sea wading, in addition to rentals like transparent paddleboards.
Spa treatments incorporate science-backed French brand Biologique Recherche and are tailormade for guests following individual diagnoses. Additional rituals include facial sculpting, HydraFacial treatments with LED light and technology-based firming or detox treatments.
Chef Vincent Maillard cut his teeth under some of the world’s leading chefs, including Guy Savoy and Alain Ducasse, and crafted a Mediterranean menu with Provence-fresh ingredients at signature restaurant Vista. Seaside La Brigantine focuses on northern Italian fare with everything from wood-fired pizzas topped with 24 month-aged Parmesan and black truffle to charcoal-grilled spiny lobster pasta.
On the edge of Plage de Gigaro, bordering a pine forest, Lily of the Valley’s beach club is lined with sunbeds facing the sea and a toes-in-the-sand restaurant, Pépé, that’s open until midnight and serves a casual mix of pizzas, salads and street food like cheeseburgers and lobster rolls.
