Le Voyage (Ascent)

Daniel Boulud's ode to oceanic travel
VERIFIED LUXURY
Le Voyage aboard Celebrity Ascent is the ship’s signature fine-dining restaurant from the cruise company’s global culinary ambassador, chef Daniel Boulud. The interior, redesigned specifically for Ascent, combines plush banquet seating and a striking chandelier with a neutral palette and gold accents, creating a refined but comfortable space.

The menu draws on Boulud’s global travels and classic technique, with options ranging from a multi-course tasting to à la carte dishes like tamarind-coated prawns and Brazilian moqueca (a fish stew). A six-seat private Chef’s Table with wine pairings offers an even deeper culinary dive, and most meals end with the chef’s signature madeleines — a consistent touch across Boulud’s sea-faring venues.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Every meal at Le Voyage begins with a glass of champagne, followed by an amuse-bouche, to set your taste buds on the right course.
  • Peruse the wine menu or ask the sommelier for some suggestions. Celebrity boasts an impressive 500-bottle wine collection that spans the globe.
  • Inspired by Boulud’s globetrotting, the menu offers a fusion of international flavors — think harissa-spiced beef tartare, sweet and sour duck enlivened with Chinese five spice and tamarind-and-peanut-crusted prawns atop fragrant green curry.
  • The dining room has a unique Gilded Age-meets-midcentury-modern look with curved chocolate-brown banquettes, an amorphous glass chandelier and gold leaf-plated ceiling panels.
  • Don’t skip the bread service. The flaky croissant-like bread is pillow-soft and is accompanied by salted butter for a simple yet mouthwatering start to your meal.

Things to Know

  • A table at Le Voyage requires an upcharge. Prices vary depending on whether you opt for the à la carte or tasting menus, and if you choose to add wine pairings.
  • Le Voyage doesn’t have a formal dress code, but Celebrity generally prohibits T-shirts, swimsuits, tank tops, baseball caps, shorts and flip-flops in specialty restaurants during evening hours. Smart casual or cocktail attire is recommended to match the ambiance.
  • Reservations are required at Daniel Boulud’s seaborne restaurant, and they can be hard to get. Book pre-cruise if you can — the venue only has 50 seats with one seating per night.
