estiatorio Milos Dubai

Feast on fresh seafood at this chic spot
VERIFIED LUXURY
Set on the edge of the Skyblaze Fountain at the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Atlantis The Royal, where awe-inspiring elements punctuate contemporary design features in just the right amounts, estiatorio Milos Dubai, also known simply as Milos, is among the city’s most impressive seafood restaurants.

Founded by acclaimed chef Costas Spiliadis, who hails from the Greek port city Patras, the dining experience at this upscale restaurant is marked by authentic Greek-Mediterranean cuisine, a sophisticated ambiance, impeccable service and a simplicity that is both elegant and refreshing. Milos focuses on preparations that let the flavors of the fresh, high-quality fish and other ingredients shine in wholesome, delicious dishes. It leaves the theatrics for the fiery water show and the hotel’s unique architecture, both of which are on display from the restaurant’s terrace and floor-to-ceiling windows inside.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • The Dubai outpost of this Montreal-born chain (with others in New York, Athens, Las Vegas, Miami and London) offers an upscale dining experience with a Greek marble and wood interior, potted olive trees, floor-to-ceiling glass doors, private dining rooms, a busy open kitchen and live music by a DJ.
  • The raw bar (including an oyster selection) and a fish-market-style seafood display whet your appetite for a meal at estiatorio Milos. Fancy some fresh sea bream or sea bass? Choose from the fresh fish on ice and ask for it to be prepared raw (sashimi, ceviche or tartare), grilled, salt-crusted, fried or poached.
  • Surrounded by romantic lanterns post-sunset, a table on the terrace gets you a dose of drama with front-row seats to the fire-and-water Skyblaze Fountain at Atlantis The Royal. This is an excellent vantage point from which to admire the resort’s spectacular facade of six towers connected by a nearly 300-foot sky bridge.
  • With an emphasis on using fresh ingredients of the highest quality, the simplicity of Greek flavors and meticulous cooking, the Dubai restaurant menu features dishes that are meant to be shared, giving you more reasons to sample a large array.
  • You can’t go wrong with the salt-crusted sea bass. Fileted tableside, it’s the kind of experience that instantly transports you to a Greek seafood restaurant on the shores of the Mediterranean.

The Food

  • Begin with the Milos special — a stack of lightly fried paper-thin zucchini and eggplant slices served with saganaki cheese and tzatziki. The grilled octopus with Santorini fava also comes highly recommended.
  • With a simple preparation consisting of tomatoes, cucumber, purslane and 12-month barrel-aged feta, the tomato salad is a light, refreshing addition to lunch.
  • Worthy of a celebratory meal, the Athenian-style lobster pasta features a whole lobster sautéed in the traditional Greek spirit amber metaxa, alongside fresh pasta in a light tomato sauce, presented between the crustacean’s head and tail.
  • To end on a sweet note, save space for decadent desserts such as the baklava with pistachios, walnuts and honey ice cream, or ekmek made with crunchy kataifi pastry, vanilla custard, whipped cream and caramelized pistachios.
  • On the wine list, you’ll find an extensive selection of premium Greek and Mediterranean pours, while cocktails are infused with the flavors of olives, lemon and other ingredients inspired by Greek cuisine.
