The former plantation property has been transformed into an ultra-luxe resort that plays up the past (colonial-inspired décor, personal butler service) with thoroughly modern comforts (private plunge pools).

If you can tear yourself away from your plush plantation-style room, you'll be rewarded with island adventures ranging from beach volleyball and water sports to coastal horseback rides and zip-lining through the jungle canopy. You won't want for ways to explore the towering Pitons (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the surrounding 100 acres of rainforest.

At the end of the day, you can even unwind St. Lucian-style with a bamboo massage at the Rainforest Spa or with an Asian-inspired cocktail at The Cane Bar.

All around the resort, you’ll find elegant places to enjoy a cocktail, but Saltwood Lounge elevates the experience with live music and lush surroundings.
Personal butler service comes along with every reservation, meaning you can hit one of the two white sand beaches as soon as you arrive while your butler unpacks your luggage, secures dinner reservations and brings you a fresh mojito.
Water sports abound, including scuba, sailing, windsurfing and kayaking.
The resort’s Rainforest Spa is made up of 10 treehouse-style treatment pavilions set in the midst of dense tropical foliage. Signature treatments include bamboo massages and hot rock therapies, and incorporate local ingredients like coconuts and cocoa butter.

Things to Know

Active types will want to call upon the butler service to book one of the signature outings, which range from culinary tours of nearby farms to hiking up Gros Piton, one of the two imposing volcanic cones.
There’s a kids club to keep little ones busy with treasure hunts, crafts and coconut bowling.
Additional amenities in the hotel’s soothing spa include a fitness center offering weekly classes, a relaxation pavilion, an earthen steam dome, sauna, ice bath and a wet room with nail service facilities.

The 130-key luxurious, white-on-white guest rooms come in four forms: guestrooms, villas, beachfront bungalows and residences

The Restaurants

At Bonté, beachside lunch and dinner can be enjoyed barefoot in the sand or on the breezy deck.
The Jetty serves refreshing cocktails and lunchtime snacks fresh off the BBQ grill. Be sure not to miss the signature Jetty burger topped with iceberg lettuce, vine-ripened tomato, dill pickles and 1K sauce.
Jalousie Grill serves lunch and dinner with a unique, interactive twist. Choose from the day’s catch to have it prepared and finished on the Argentinian grill.
At Saltwood Restaurant, indulge in elevated Caribbean-inspired cuisine while enjoying a candlelit dinner in a traditional plantation-style setting that offers stunning views of the Pitons and the beach.
The Cane Bar, a chic lounge, serves South-East Asian inspired small, shareable plates, including fresh sushi and sashimi, sake and cocktails like a shiso and raspberry caipirinha. However, if you’re in the mood for a rum cocktail, Saltwood Bar has you covered.
