The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Singapore
A soothing Singapore retreat
VERIFIED LUXURY
Here are five things to know about us:
1. We verify luxury. Our highly trained inspectors visit every property we rate, evaluating based on up to 900 objective criteria. Our hotel stays span a minimum of two nights.
2. We pay our own way. No one can buy a rating; all ratings are earned through our objective inspection process.
3. Our global team of inspectors are anonymous at all times, so they have the same experience as a typical guest.
4. While we inspect both service and facility, our Star Rating system emphasizes service because your experience at a hotel, restaurant or spa goes beyond looks — how it makes you feel is what you will remember most.
5. We started in1958 as Mobil Travel Guide, and we created the original Five-Star rating system for hospitality.
Five-Star
These properties deliver an outstanding experience and consistently offer a highly customized level of service.
Four-Star
These are exceptional properties, offering high levels of service and quality of facility to match.
Recommended

Our Inspector's Highlights
- Interior design firm AB Concept, which has outfitted high-end spas, hotels and restaurants all over Asia, decorated the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star spa.
- The modern interior uses a warm, natural color palette with dark woods, gray-and-white marble and mother-of-pearl accents. The lighting is dimmed and soft music plays throughout the soothing space.
- Upon arrival, you’ll start your spa experience off right with a specially made house-blend tea and a chilled towel to open up your pores, preparing your skin for the luxurious pampering to come.
- Crafted as an urban getaway, you’ll forget all about the hustle and bustle of the financial district and the striking Singapore skyscrapers right outside.
- The spa boutique sells a signature product line that was developed exclusively for Mandarin Oriental, Singapore by specialty retailer Aromatherapy Associates. Products include body scrubs, washes and lotions, as well as bath, shower and body oils made from natural, paraben-free ingredients that were mixed by a master blender.
Things to Know
- The best way to get an appointment at the Singapore spa is to call directly and speak with a member of the spa’s concierge.
- Mandarin Oriental, Singapore’s concierge, might be able to sneak you in last-minute if you’re flexible about availability and the treatment you’d like.
- Keep in mind the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star spa is intimate, with just six treatment rooms — two of which are ideal for couples treatments — we suggest making an appointment two weeks in advance, and no fewer than two to three days before.
- If you give more than 24 hours’ notice, you won’t be charged any fees, but if you cancel within 24 hours, you’ll have to pay for half your treatment.
The Treatments
- A soft- to medium-pressure massage well-suited for jet-lagged travelers, the spa’s signature Oriental Essence massage sees your therapist use essential oils made from frankincense, ginger and mandarin to gently knead your body into a softened state of total bliss.
- Let one of the spa’s expert therapists pamper you with the Caviar Signature Facial. This luxe anti-aging treatment uses protein-rich caviar to firm, tone and deeply rehydrate the skin, especially around the eyes, neck and décolleté.
- De-stress with a Vitality Scalp Massage. Focusing on vital energy points, this calming yet energizing treatment will help to soothe tension headaches and calm your mind.
- Taste of the Orient is not a single treatment, but rather a bundle of four separate services that includes a bamboo body scrub and Oriental Bamboo Massage, this pampering three-hour spa program is the ultimate splurge.
The Facilities
- Offering just six sumptuously designed private treatment rooms, the intimate size of The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Singapore means there’s a good chance you will have the immaculate locker room wet areas all to yourself.
- As you wait for your therapist to whisk you away, enjoy the dimly lit relaxation lounge with soothing music, soft lighting and plush chairs. There are two massage chairs where you can get started working out some kinks, or simply enjoy healthy snacks, bottled water and hot tea.
- Both the men’s and women’s locker rooms are connected to a small sauna, steam room and experience shower, with the latter featuring three different settings – Polar Mist, Tropical Rain and Island Storm — that alternate water temperature and pressure.
- You’ll have access to this luxury Singapore spa’s wet areas both before and after your treatment, so plan on arriving 30 to 45 minutes early to allow yourself plenty of time to get checked in, changed and fully relaxed.
- Sit back in a chaise lounge or go for a dip in a sleek infinity pool with views of the Marina Bay.
