Beneath the newly reopened Hotel Lutetia sits Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Centre, a 7,500-square-foot luxury wellness destination. The spa’s holistic approach is themed around the four elements, offering a menu of balanced nutrition (earth), yoga and breathing rituals before every treatment (air), a high-end gym with personal trainers (fire) and a 55-foot indoor pool (water).

The Lutetia has also dedicated a subterranean level to its new spa. The new space retains lots of natural light, thanks to clever use of glass and mirrors.

Our Inspector's Highlights

The space feels like it’s been cut into solid marble, with oceans of white stone and reflected light around every turn.
With an impressive range of classes on offer, such as Pilates, boxing, HIIT, TRX and cross-training, Akasha is about more than just pampering.
The menu of detox drinks and nutritional meals has been designed by Benjamin Brial, the executive chef of the Lutetia and former top toque of Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square.
Men are made to feel more than welcome, with a range of specialty treatments, a gentlemen’s manicure and a barber available.

Things to Know

The Akasha brand is a fixture in other luxurious properties in Europe — Hotel Café Royal in London and the Conservatorium in Amsterdam — and like those spaces, the ambition here is to offer high-end tranquility at the heart of a European capital.
The Paris spa advises that you arrive 30 minutes before your service to make use of the amenities.
If you’re staying in the hotel, opt to have your treatment in your room.
A limited number of spa and gym memberships are available for non-hotel guests.

The Treatments

Swiss brand Cellcosmet & Cellmen, which takes a cellular approach to skin care with plant- and marine-based anti-aging formulas, is used in treatments. British brand Aromatherapy Associates supplies essential oils for massages and cosmetics come from French company Carita.
If you are an across-the-pond visitor, try the Grand Voyageur, an anti-jetlag massage to help reset your body clock and an eye treatment to banish bags.
The Akasha by Carita massage employs hot stones to boost circulation, energy and relaxation to inch of your body.
There's a treatment for a father and son to enjoy together — one hour and 30 minutes of personal training followed by a grooming session at the barbershop.

The Facilities

There are six treatment rooms, including a couple’s suite.
The gym is 1,076 square feet of sleek black equipment laid out on a flame-red floor that inspires you to get moving.
The pool area offers plenty of discreet space to lounge around, plus a steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi.
A hair salon will open in the spa soon, helmed by French stylist Christophe-Nicolas Biot and specializing in plant-based coloring.

Amenities
