When two iconic luxury brands joined forces to create the flagship Guerlain Wellness Spa for Waldorf Astoria New York, which reopened after a long renovation in 2025, expectations were understandably high. But the 22,000-square-foot spa and wellness facility lives up to them. The world’s largest Guerlain spa features 16 treatment rooms, including two VIP double suites, three relaxation rooms and a range of exclusive treatments.

The spacious design creates a serene atmosphere, allowing guests to feel as though they have escaped to a tranquil wellness retreat, far from the stresses of the city. Unique touches can be found throughout, such as custom-engraved lipstick cases and a treatment inspired by the iconic Waldorf Astoria clock. Guerlain’s holistic approach to wellness is the foundation of the spa’s offerings, focusing on nutrition, movement, sleep and mindfulness. The movement aspect is emphasized by the 10,000-square-foot fitness center designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon, which nicely complements this luxurious sanctuary.

Our Inspector's Highlights

Wimberly Interiors crafted a space that seamlessly combines the Waldorf Astoria's art deco style with Guerlain’s Parisian elegance. The design features a palette of soft whites and warm woods, enhanced by metallic accents and sculptural lines. Throughout the spa, you'll also find the iconic Guerlain bee logo, which was originally designed for Empress Eugenie, the wife of Napoleon III, since the insect represents the French empire.
The stylish jungle wallpaper and hanging works of art reveal the touch of the designer, Pierre-Yves Rochon. The 10,000-square-foot fitness center is exceptionally well-equipped with Lifetime Fitness machines, Pelotons and a stunning workout studio where the cult-favorite barre-inspired Physique 57 is in residency.
The Manhattan spa’s all-gender lounge is worth making time for, with an infrared sauna and a Himalayan salt wall, a steam room, a Turkish hammam table heated to 90 degrees and a 30-degree arctic snow cave for cold therapy.
The women’s locker and relaxation rooms are enviably stocked with Dyson hair styling tools, Fekkai styling products and Guerlain hair treatment masks and scalp serums.

The Treatments

Experience the exclusive Waldorf Astoria-inspired treatments, like the Spirit of Achievement, named in honor of the hotel's iconic art deco statue above its threshold. This massage uses vertical motions to draw energy upward through the body, thereby removing all tension.
