The Spa at Wynn Macau

A tranquil Macau escape
VERIFIED LUXURY
Worlds away from the poker tables and slot machines of Wynn Macau’s glitzy ground-floor casino, The Spa at Wynn Macau provides a soothing feast for the eyes of weary travelers.

Adorned with Oriental-style artwork and ornately carved woods, dressed in neutral colors and incorporating stone and other natural materials into its minimalist Asian-contemporary design style, the Five-Star spa exudes tranquility at every turn. With 14 private treatment rooms — three exclusively reserved for couples — and a register of luxurious treatments, including body massages, rejuvenating facials and even champagne baths, you’ll have no trouble finding your style of Zen.

Whether you’re nursing a case of jet lag from a long trans-Pacific flight, or simply want to get away from it all for an hour or two and treat yourself to a world-class massage, this elite spa is certainly one of the finest options in Macau.

Our Inspector's Highlights
  • The Chinese spa's philosophy is to tailor its services to whatever ails you, whether it be a knotted-up back or a less-than-perfect complexion. With 20 treatments, the pampering spa strives to meet your individual facial, massage and body treatment needs, combining traditional treatments with signature therapies such as the Macanese massage, ginseng hot stones and a number of hydrotherapies.
  • Refreshments are plentiful this pampering spa, from water bottles in the wet areas to fresh fruit-flavored water placed in the locker rooms.
  • When getting a pedicure, you will notice that the chairs are set up in a row facing the pool, making for an entertaining afternoon of people-watching for you and a friend.
Things to Know
  • The intimate spa is the ultimate couples retreat; it is outfitted with rooms for twosomes complete with a private tub that’s lit with candles and sprinkled with rose petals. Reserve the room and your own set of treatments, or go with the Couple's Bliss package, which includes a body scrub for both of you as well as a luxurious bath filled with champagne and roses.
  • If you are planning a co-ed spa trip, note that the relaxation rooms are gender separated.
  • If you can't make it to the spa during regular hours, indulge in one of the in-room massages, available 24 hours a day.

The Treatments
  • When your body is one big knot, unfurl it with one of the extravagant spa's 8 unique massage services. Rubdowns range from the signature Macanese massage, a holistic deep-tissue treatment that uses blended oils, to a soothing lymphatic massage, which promises to improve the circulation proteins and immune cells and to reduce cellulite.
  • More traditional options available to you as well, such as a Swedish, Thai and sports massages; cupping and ginseng hot stones; and Tui Na, an oil-less, deep massage.
  • To get the most out of your spa visit, add a hydrotherapy treatment to your experience. The enticing inner peace bath uses Himalayan salts and essential oils to soften your skin, and the champagne rose bath goes the sexy route by adding flower petals and bubbly into your tub.
The Facilities
  • You won’t spend much time in the beautifully designed waiting area, but it’s sure to leave a positive — and lasting — first impression as you’re escorted from the reception area to either the men’s or women’s locker room. Plush flower-patterned carpeting, textured golden walls and elegant koi pond paintings highlight the décor of this Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star spa’s central corridor, which is also lined on both sides by chic brass lanterns set within beds of smooth white stones.
  • Dimly lit, furnished with cushioned lounge chairs and featuring a wall fashioned from different shades of squared marble, the relaxation lounge is a cozy, masculine space to kick up your feet and unwind before your treatments.
  • Located within this Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star spa’s communal wet areas — there’s one for men and a separate one for women — this comfortable area is stocked with local newspapers and such magazines as Golf, Men’s Health and GQ if you care to do some light reading, or you can browse a variety of local and international cable channels on a huge flat-screen television.
  • You’ll want to check out the sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi while you’re in there, and be sure to take in the relaxation-inducing lavender scent that permeates the space.
  • The Five-Star spa’s locker room also provides a shower section with everything you need to freshen up after your treatment, as well as vanity stations to make sure you leave looking even better than when you arrived.
