The former Old War Office is home to the U.K.'s first and only sanctuary from the brand, which sits alongside Pillar Wellbeing, bringing time-honored beauty rituals and science-led wellness together under one roof.

Spanning 27,000 square feet across four floors, the sheer scale is immediately impressive. Yet despite its size, the atmosphere feels like a cocoon. Pale wood, soft earthy tones and delicately carved floral motifs nod to Guerlain’s Parisian elegance, while soaring ceilings above the 20-meter swimming pool create an unexpected sense of openness.

The partnership between Pillar Wellbeing and Guerlain is seamless and well-balanced, creating an experience that addresses both long-term health and immediate relaxation. While Guerlain draws on almost two centuries of French beauty expertise through its luxuriously scented facial and body treatments, Pillar Wellbeing complements the experience with a modern philosophy centered on movement, nutrition and recovery.

Access is available to hotel guests, residents and those booking spa experiences. For those wanting a long-term commitment, there are a limited number of available memberships, which includes gym entry, complimentary group exercise classes, pool access and more.

Our Inspector's Highlights

A sculptural staircase winds from the movement studios down to the pool, where loungers are thoughtfully tucked into quiet alcoves, creating a sense of privacy. Guests booking treatments of 90 minutes or more at the London spa can enjoy an hour's access to the facilities before and after their appointment, enjoying poolside juices or a glass of champagne in the process.
The Tailored Guerlain Facial is exactly that. Following an in-depth consultation, therapists personalize every stage of the treatment, combining techniques such as lymphatic drainage, intensive hydration and targeted masks according to your skin.
Pre- and post-treatment refreshments are curated in partnership with Camellia's Tea House to offer a menu of wellness and herbal infusions that are uniquely inspired by different emotions. They are also available to purchase from the hotel.
Three spacious VIP treatment suites feature freestanding bathtubs, while subtle details such as crystal bees perched atop the treatment beds pay homage to Guerlain's iconic emblem.
Rather than rushing off afterward, guests can make time for L'Atelier Guerlain on the ground floor. This elegant beauty boutique offers makeup applications, hair styling and fragrance consultations. There’s even the opportunity to work with a Guerlain master perfumer to create a bespoke scent.

The Facilities

Pillar Wellbeing’s founder, elite performance coach Harry Jameson, has created a thoughtfully designed training environment. The performance gym combines premium strength and cardio equipment alongside functional training areas. There’s also a Pilates program and movement classes on offer.
For those who take their fitness seriously, one-on-one health assessments examine everything from body composition and cardiovascular fitness to body fat and muscle mass analysis before creating a personalized wellness plan.
Pillar Kitchen on the hotel’s ground floor is a light, bright café space led by renowned chef Jason Atherton. The menu applies fine-dining principles to functional nutrition, with dishes designed to support energy, immunity and long-term well-being.
The relaxation lounge provides a tranquil pause before returning to the energy of Whitehall, with healthy snacks and refreshments, including housemade cacao protein balls.
Hydro and thermal facilities at the luxury spa include a sauna, steam room, hydrotherapy pools and experience showers.
