Awana Spa

Vegas' social sanctuary
VERIFIED LUXURY

Most spas are as quiet as libraries. But you won’t be required to adopt hushed tones or tiptoe around Awana Spa in Resorts World Las Vegas. The 27,000-square-foot sanctuary seeks to make spa days more social and fun by combining communal experiences with innovative offerings.

Take the dark Foot Spa Lounge. Resembling a screening room with gray plush armchairs and TVs lining the wall, it’s just the place to gather with friends or family.

Another venue for relaxation with others is the expansive wet area dubbed the Fountain of Youth, a bright coed space. Oversized LED screens cover the Fountain of Youth’s curved wall and showcase nature scenes like snowy mountains or gushing waterfalls. To transport you to each video projection, the room’s temperature and lighting adjust to the location.

The 19-treatment-room spa prides itself on its menu of global treatments and lays claim to being the first in the U.S. to offer aufguss, a European tradition that features an interactive theatrical sauna performance.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Catch the aufguss performance in the spacious, circular sauna. A sauna meister leads you through a 15-minute guided breath and meditation session using music, lights, aromatherapy and dance. Our sauna meister, a graceful professional dancer in a pearl-studded bikini, created a pine scent and used a swath of fabric to help the grounding fragrance waft over those in attendance. It’s much more entertaining than a solitary sauna visit and gives direction to those who need assistance with meditation.
  • The Tokyo Escape puts sleepless nights to rest. The therapist rubs tension-prone areas like the back, scalp, arm, legs and feet with a calming essential oil blend. Meanwhile, a warm, dry towel will shield your head and eyes. You’ll leave ready to slip into bed.
  • While you won’t reverse the course of aging at the Fountain of Youth, you’ll leave feeling fresh and rejuvenated after circulating among the six vitality pools, a crystal laconium, warming tepidarium chairs, steam rooms, cool mist showers and a rain walk (choose tropical or arctic).
  • Kick up your feet in the coed Foot Spa Lounge, which accommodates up to 20 people. Malaysian-inspired services using reflexology, gua sha, massage and energy work target your soles, hands and shoulders. These are great for those with swollen lower legs after a flight or weary feet after a day strolling the Strip or a night dancing at Zouk.
  • Before a night out on the Strip, get a radiant complexion with the Signature Hydrafacial. This fantastic deep-cleaning, non-invasive service exfoliates, extracts impurities and replenishes the skin with potent serums.

Things to Know

  • At check-in, you’re greeted with a tray holding an oshibori (a hot towel), a cup of matcha tea and orchid buds to start your journey. Arrive early to fully enjoy this welcoming ritual.
  • Use of the Fountain of Youth is included with any spa treatment 60 minutes or longer. You also can experience it by purchasing a three-hour passport.
  • The design of the warm, modern Las Vegas spa draws on principles of the golden ratio, which means rounded rooms, curved walls, arched doorways and mirrors, circular light fixtures, rounded vitality pools that flow into one another and even sinuous-shaped sofas.
  • The spa does not have a salon, but you can get a hair, nail, lash and makeup services at Resort World's Miss Behave Beauty Salon. Miss Behave's stylists and technicians also will come to your hotel room to help you get dolled up.
