Classic pampering with Rocky Mountains views
VERIFIED LUXURY
Here are five things to know about us:
1. We verify luxury. Our highly trained inspectors visit every property we rate, evaluating based on up to 900 objective criteria. Our hotel stays span a minimum of two nights.
2. We pay our own way. No one can buy a rating; all ratings are earned through our objective inspection process.
3. Our global team of inspectors are anonymous at all times, so they have the same experience as a typical guest.
4. While we inspect both service and facility, our Star Rating system emphasizes service because your experience at a hotel, restaurant or spa goes beyond looks — how it makes you feel is what you will remember most.
5. We started in1958 as Mobil Travel Guide, and we created the original Five-Star rating system for hospitality.
Five-Star
These properties deliver an outstanding experience and consistently offer a highly customized level of service.
Four-Star
These are exceptional properties, offering high levels of service and quality of facility to match.
Recommended
These are excellent properties with consistently good service and facilities.
Soon To Be Rated
As our highly trained, incognito inspectors work to assess properties, our editors check them out ahead of time and provide a sneak preview of what to expect.
With the beautiful scenery of the Rocky Mountains as a backdrop, the Five-Star Spa at The Broadmoor already has an advantage over other luxury spas. But even without these surroundings, an experience at this two-level lakefront spa is pure bliss.
With Venetian chandeliers, a residential feel and an overall ambience of serenity, the scene is set for the spa’s luxurious massage therapies and skin and body treatments. Royal blues and golds are found throughout the expansive spa, which houses 38 private treatment rooms. It feels both posh and comfortable, and the serene vibe echoes through from the large reception area and shop to the wet areas and the sumptuous relaxation rooms.
If your Rocky Mountain adventures have left you with aching muscles, a variety of massage therapies will make you feel like new again, while facial therapies will get skin glowing.

Our Inspector's Highlights
- Lest guests forget they're in beautiful Colorado Springs, the Mountain View Room (a co-ed relaxation lounge) has large picture windows that look out over The Broadmoor's golf course and the Rocky Mountains beyond. Sit here before and after treatments to quietly take in the view.
- An 18-head Serenity Shower is available for use by appointment, and it's worth it — the shower is computerized to adjust to your height and preferred temperature and water pressure.
- Fireplaces in each of the gender specific relaxation lounges amp up the cozy feel, as do the richly upholstered chairs, extra pillows and warm spa robes.
- Situated beneath a large skylight, the Spa Pool is another place you can lounge around before or after your treatment. Just outside is a two-lane heated lap pool and a large whirlpool that overlooks the golf course greens.
- The very special couples suite has dark wood paneling, a crystal chandelier and a roaring fireplace — quite the setting for romantic side-by-side massages.
Things to Know
- The fitness center and pools are only available to guests at The Broadmoor.
- Spa treatments are mostly limited to adults — nail services are open to those as young as 4 (with an accompanying adult) and select massage and facials are available for those aged 16 or older.
- The relaxation lounges stock fresh, healthy snacks and refreshments for spa guests, including fruit-infused water, teas, nuts, dried and fresh fruits.
- Shopping the spa goods in the reception area of The Broadmoor's spa is fun a way to end a day of pampering — you'll find an array of products used in many of the treatments and the spa's popular microfiber robes in an elegant space decorated with a glittering chandelier and large fresco mural.
The Treatments
- All-natural, partially organic skincare and body care products are used in the treatments, which range from massages and specialty body work to facials and hydrotherapy treatments. Adjacent to the spa is a salon where you can get manis/pedis, hair services, waxing and makeup application.
- The Broadmoor Combination is a wonderful combo of several of the spa's best therapies to produce soft, hydrated skin. It includes a whipped honey salt scrub, time in the serenity shower and an almond blossom moisture bath.
- During the 80-minute Ashiatsu Deep Therapy Massage, therapists don’t use their hands, but their bare feet to knock out the knots. A more traditional option is the signature massage (tailored to your needs), and can be further customized by adding hot stones, aromatherapy oils or a poultice foot massage.
The Facilities
- Overstuffed ottomans and carpeted dressing areas make the locker room experience a pleasant one — feel free to take as long as you want to get ready while trying out the bevy of bath products and styling tools.
- The Broadmoor's fitness center is located in the same building as the spa, one floor below it. Here you'll find cardio machines and weight training equipment; personal trainers are available and there are a slew of fitness classes and programs to take advantage of, including cycling, yoga and bootcamp.
- Prolong your visit to the spa by spending time in the steam room (with cold shower), oxygen room and dry sauna.
