Despite the central location, you will indeed feel a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city — The Sukhothai is surrounded by six acres of neatly landscaped gardens. The hotel’s design incorporates Chedis and pagoda; natural materials teakwood, bronze and marble; and rich Thai fabrics and furnishings. Spa Botanica follows suit with an organic, nature-inspired aesthetic, although a thoroughly modern one.

Top-notch facilities and a seemingly endless list of exotic and classic services make this spa a must-visit for those seeking a peaceful retreat in central Bangkok.

Our Inspector's Highlights

Its boutique, minimalist feel extends to its seven secluded treatment rooms set over two floors, with soft interiors of pale bamboo, light stones and small statues.
As you step into the warmly lit reception area with soothing music playing in the background, sip on a welcome drink before selecting a treatment from the large menu of massages, scrubs, wraps, aromatherapy treatments and facials.
Choose a package and you’ll head to the large spa suite to spend time in the private hot tub, steam room and balcony overlooking the peaceful garden and lotus ponds.
Various aromatherapy treatments use essential oils from the U.K.’s Aromatherapy Associates and address multiple ailments with treatments that energize, clear sinuses, harmonize skim, restore hair and deeply relax the body.
Some Thai, back and foot massages can be taken in one of the plush loungers surrounding the picturesque, vegetation-lined pool.

Things to Know

Spa Botanica isn’t located within The Sukhothai Bangkok’s main building.
Not all services are held within the spa building. Manicures and pedicures are available on the second floor of the main hotel building.
If you want to enjoy all of the plush amenities uninterrupted, we advise that you arrive to your appointment fairly early.

The Treatments

Ancient Thai and nature-inspired wellness services are what Spa Botanica is all about.
Therapists at the Bangkok spa recommend the 1.5-hour Sukhothai Signature Massage, which is based on the Oriental principles of energy meridians to invigorate the body and reduce stress.
The Thai Herbal Retreat involves aromatherapy and herbal heat compresses to loosen knotted muscles and prepare the body for a deep-tissue massage using refreshing lemongrass oil.
Mothers-to-be can enjoy special pregnancy treatments, including the Ultimate Rose Pregnancy Massage and the Rose Hydrating Cocoon, both of which use the gentle, restoring properties of rose.
Men aren’t left out, either, with both individual services and comprehensive packages, including the Rejuvenate (two different massages and a facial), and the Mantastic Escape (scrub, wrap, massage, spa meal, facial and manicure).

The Facilities

Feeling active? Then take a dip in that 82-foot outdoor pool, which has a thoroughly far-flung feel despite its location.
You can also head to the health club, which has a Jacuzzi, a sauna and a steam room.
