Dining Room (SeaDream II)

Casually elegant dining at sea
VERIFIED LUXURY
Dinner in SeaDream II’s Dining Room is an unhurried ritual, where every course feels like a celebration. You sink into your chair, candlelight flickering against crisp white linens, as the hum of soft conversation and clinking crystal fills the air. The space is elegant yet understated — polished wood paneling, fine china and oversized windows that frame the endless waters.

The menu is a revelation, crafted daily by the chef with a focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients. You might start with chilled caviar and blinis, move on to perfectly seared Dover sole filleted tableside, and finish with a Grand Marnier soufflé so delicate it nearly floats off the plate. The sommelier, who already knows your preferences, suggests a rare vintage from the ship’s impressive wine cellar, while the bartender crafts classic cocktails with an expert hand.

There are no rushed seatings or fixed schedules — just exceptional cuisine, impeccable service and the lingering pleasure of a meal that feels tailor-made for you.

Things to Know

  • Noting your dietary preferences ahead of time will ensure an even more seamless experience come dinner time. Even if you forget this step, Dining Room’s hearty vegan and vegetarian offerings make navigating dietary restrictions a breeze.
  • The dress code at the Dining Room is “yacht casual” — think polos and boat shoes, slacks and breezy blouses or casual dresses with nice sandals. Stylish comfort is key, so you won’t find a pair of high heels or a tie anywhere in sight.
  • Don’t dismiss the chef’s specials at breakfast and lunch. Options might include curry omelets and pesto Benedict in the morning, followed by hearty lasagna and indulgent mussels come midday.
  • If you can’t find something to sate your appetite, the crew will be happy to make you something off menu. The scratch-made pizza is a particular off-menu favorite, though you’ll want to request this specialty 24 hours in advance to allow the chef time to rest the hand-kneaded dough.
  • Thanks to SeaDream II’s all-inclusive model, you won’t have to shell out extra cash for cocktails. House wines, beer, spirits and soft drinks are all part of the experience — premium wines and top-shelf spirits will cost you a bit more, however.
