Ying at Altira Macau

A contemporary twist on Cantonese cuisine
2026 Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star
VERIFIED LUXURY
Your first clue that Ying isn’t your typical Cantonese restaurant is the contemporary décor. The use of traditional red is balanced with modern touches like gold beaded curtains and glass panels, and the plush main dining room offers spectacular waterfront views of the Macau Peninsula and its city lights. Seven private and three semi-private rooms provide a more intimate setting for a memorable meal.

Classic Cantonese restaurants don’t always offer the comforts of upscale dining, but Ying seamlessly blends traditional with more modern elements (witness the wine cellar). The talented culinary team brings modern flair to classic dishes, focusing on fresh seafood and contemporary twists throughout, such as the lychee wood-roasted Iberico pork char siu.

From the attentive staff to the ornately carved wooden column, the experience is studded with carefully sculpted details.

Our Inspector's Highlights
  • The Five-Star restaurant’s décor marries traditional red with modern textures and art, including an ornately carved wooden column, and the main dining room offers a dramatic and picturesque view of the Macau peninsula.
  • The atmosphere is lively and not at all stuffy, but the dramatic space isn’t the most informal on the property, so you’ll want to dress to impress.
  • Both the lunch and dinner menus blend classic Cantonese delicacies with modern takes on authentic recipes.
  • While many dim sum restaurants now focus on in-and-out service, Ying strives to keep things personal by maintaining classic table service.
Things to Know
