La Chine

A Cantonese mecca in the Eiffel Tower
VERIFIED LUXURY
Nestled inside The Parisian Macao’s Eiffel Tower, La Chine welcomes diners with a sumptuous interior adorned with wood paneling, ornate flooring, vintage French glass and some of the tower’s actual structure. Exuding an Old World French elegance, the restaurant offers a breathtaking view of the Cotai Strip, marked by The Londoner Macao’s magnificent Big Ben building and The Venetian Macao’s beautiful lagoon.

Helmed by executive Chinese chef Ben Lui, who has more than 30 years of cooking experience, this Cantonese mecca offers a unique approach to traditional dishes. With gorgeous presentation and innovative touches, the East-meets-West fusion comes to life in signature dishes such as smoked baby pigeon in lemongrass.

With à la carte options, tasting menus and dim sum selections, the restaurant offers an array of authentic Cantonese flavors and time-honored cooking methods. It features private rooms and a group area, making it an ideal venue for anniversaries and celebrations of all kinds.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Be prepared to be amazed when you arrive at the restaurant’s walkway enhanced with marble flooring and gorgeous glass windows. Admire the Cotai Strip’s stunning view while stepping into the restaurant, which sits inside the integrated resort’s Eiffel Tower.
  • The poached Boston lobster in a superior prawn broth served with crispy rice stands in a league of its own. The creamy broth, freshly prepared twice daily for lunch and dinner, is expertly balanced with the crispy rice and succulent lobster. Experience the dish as it sizzles to life, with the rice and broth mixed before your eyes.
  • Lui’s team has meticulously perfected the Cantonese classic dish of baby pigeon. Each bird, carefully selected to weigh between 220 and 230 grams, is braised in soy to eliminate any gamey aroma. It’s then deep-fried to lock in its juices, followed by a delicate smoking with lemongrass on applewood. This aromatic plate has swiftly become a crowd pleaser.
  • For a refreshing appetizer, the marinated Chinese pear with hawthorn and balsamic vinegar pearls is visually pleasing. The pear slices are marinated in red wine and put together like chunks of pears or roses. Like some other dishes, this starter is served on a plate decorated with paintings and messages made of jam.
  • Other classics also shine on the menu. The restaurant’s version of wok-fried flat rice noodles with beef features a traditional hand-pulled rice roll technique that delivers a delightful bounce. The glutinous dumplings resemble auspicious mandarins. Dates add depth to the sweetness in the Cantonese sponge cakes.

Things to Know

  • The dim sum staples are designed to be visually unforgettable. Some of the favorites among photo-taking diners are the steamed shrimp, matsutake and bamboo pith golden fish dumplings; the steamed shrimp, scallop and crab meat dumplings; and steamed crystal blue prawn dumplings.
  • The restaurant’s extensive drink list is composed of more than 300 types of wines from 14 countries. There’s also a premium selection of Chinese teas on offer.
  • The bar serves a seasonal cocktail menu. During the summer, you might find drinks done with Chinese tea themes, while in winter, more cinnamon and other Christmas touches are incorporated.
