Lai Heen Restaurant

A modern take on classic Cantonese cuisine
VERIFIED LUXURY

Nestled within the sleek walls of The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou, Lai Heen is a feast for the senses, offering thoughtful contemporary-meets-classic interiors alongside an elevated dining experience.

The interior design exudes modern elegance, with dark wood accents, plush seating and wood panels that create an intimate yet sophisticated ambiance. Soft lighting casts a warm glow over white tablecloths, setting the stage for refined Cantonese cuisine.

The menu is a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, spotlighting delicacies like double-boiled sea whelk soup and charcoal-grilled Iberico pork with honey sauce. Seasonal ingredients shine in their dim sum selection, while the braised abalone and signature Peking duck are not to be missed.

An extensive tea collection served with ceremonial precision enhances the flavors, while a curated wine and cocktail list adds a modern twist.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • The multi-sensory experience begins immediately upon arrival as you’re greeted by the traditional sounds of a guzheng, a classic Chinese string instrument expertly plucked by a talented musician.
  • The dim sum at Lai Heen is an art form, featuring delicate creations such as steamed seafood dumplings with caviar and crispy spring rolls filled with creamy shrimp mousse.
  • For an extra local touch, certified tea sommeliers can guide you through a pairing journey, matching rare and fragrant teas like Tie Guan Yin or Longjing with Lai Heen’s signature dishes.
  • Presentation is all part of Lai Heen’s sensory journey. White porcelain dishes allow colorful entrees to shine while still offering a touch of Cantonese flair and ultra-fresh local vegetables serve as both mouthwatering sides and vibrant garnishes.
  • Save room for dessert. Gorgeously plated Cantonese sweets like chilled mango sago pudding with pomelo or a peach bun longevity dish are as pleasing to the eyes as they are to the palate.
