Calusso

A Riviera-inspired dining room overlooking the marina
VERIFIED LUXURY
Set within the newly reimagined Pier Sixty-Six, Calusso is a chef-driven dining room that reflects Fort Lauderdale’s evolving culinary confidence. Led by South Florida native chef Jonathan Kaiser, the restaurant delivers a composed European point of view shaped by classical technique, coastal sourcing and a deliberate sense of restraint.

The atmosphere is polished but social, with a vibrancy that builds naturally as the night progresses. Calusso is designed for diners who arrive with intention, settle in and allow the evening to progress at its own unique pace. The menu mirrors that rhythm, favoring clarity over excess, with crudos, pastas and mains that unfold gradually rather than overwhelm. Tableside moments are integrated thoughtfully, adding ceremony without disrupting flow, while the bar and lounge offer a refined entry point for a more flexible evening.

Calusso delivers a confident, destination-worthy experience that feels rooted in timeless luxury rather than trend. And, yes, the views are stellar overlooking the Pier Sixty-Six Marina, which has 160-plus boat slips and can hold mega-yachts up to 400 feet in length.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • A sculptural wooden arch marks the restaurant’s entrance, creating a strong sense of arrival before guests enter the dining room.
  • The interior blends sleek yachting influences with warm European touches, including ambient lighting and a striking wine wall that you can’t help but gawk at once you’re inside. An open kitchen adds quiet energy to the space, reinforcing the restaurant’s craftsmanship-forward appeal.
  • In addition to a regular dinner menu, the Fort Lauderdale restaurant also has dedicated menus for its bar and lounge space, desserts and its version of happy hour known as Harbour Hour.
  • Tableside lobster Parmesan introduces an element of theater that feels measured rather than performative. Bring a major appetite for it or prepare to share.
  • Save room for dessert here. The sweets menu leans into playful pairings such as Mandarin & Cocoa (chocolate mousse with a mandarin sorbet) and Pear & Rosemary (meringue, a dash of vanilla Chantilly and pear tonka sorbet).
