Park Hyatt Seoul

High-rise luxury in the heart of Seoul
VERIFIED LUXURY

Among the glistening skyscrapers of the Gangnam district, Park Hyatt Seoul is a discreet resident — its presence so subtle, it’s easy to miss. The porte cochère, tucked away from the street, creates an entrance that is free of fanfare. Board the elevator, headed for the stunning sky lobby, and take in the scale of the city with panoramic views.

Designed by Japanese firm Super Potato, Nippon influences are found everywhere in Park Hyatt Seoul’s interiors: clean lines, natural materials and an attention to the smallest details that is both surprising and comforting. A stay within this luxury enclave feels more like returning to your own personal pied-à-terre rather than checking into a tower in one of the world’s most bustling cities.

Our Inspector's Highlights
  • The lobby, 24 floors up, welcomes you with a stunning view of Seoul’s commercial district.

  • There are only 10 rooms per floor, which ensures a high level of privacy.

  • It is possible to get in a good workout while traveling thanks to Park Hyatt Seoul’s fantastically appointed fitness studio with TechnoGym equipment and full weight-training amenities. Afterward, take a dip in the indoor pool or book a facial and body treatment at the spa.

  • The hotel has multiple dining options, which are suitable for either a quick bite, a refreshing cocktail or a longer formal dinner.
Things to Know
  • You’ll have to try hard not to become transfixed by the cityscape views when spending time in your room’s bath and rainfall shower (both happen to feel as if they were sculpted from stone).

  • The hearty Italian brunch at Cornerstone, available Saturday and Sunday, offers both buffet options and an à la carte menu stacked with Mediterranean fare.

  • Shop till you drop at COEX, one of the largest malls and exhibition centers in South Korea. It extends for what seems like miles underground the entire area surrounding the Seoul hotel.
The Rooms
  • Floor-to-ceiling windows extend the length of the guest rooms; the plentitude of natural light they produce is one of the best unexpected perks of this urban hotel.

  • The rooms are ultra-modern in both form and function. Even before engaging with all the technological bells and whistles (flat-screen TV, high-speed Wi-Fi, Bang & Olufsen audio system), be stunned by the angular, seamless lines of Myanmar oak and stone accenting the spaces.

  • The bed appears to float in the middle of the room, which is encased in the sublime neutral tones that extend from the floor-to-ceiling windows to the walls to the bed. The minimalist design has a very contemporary Asian look and feels exactly up-to-date.

  • These accommodations are said to be the largest in Seoul — rooms start at 600 square feet.
The Restaurant
  • The Lounge, off the lobby on the 24th floor, offers bites, beverages and desserts and is encased in floor-to-ceiling windows. Here, you can also catch a glimpse of the adjacent indoor infinity swimming pool.

  • Timber House, on the basement level of the luxury hotel, is back after a renovation. Styled as a premium vinyl record bar and restaurant, Timber House is the perfect place to enjoy live DJ performances, craft cocktails, fine cigars, sushi and more.

  • The open kitchen at Cornerstone gives a warm inviting feel thanks to wood-burning ovens. The boutique Italian wines don’t hurt, either.
