La Casa de la Playa

The Riviera Maya's living sculpture
VERIFIED LUXURY

An adults-only escape on the Riviera Maya, the newly opened La Casa de la Playa is more than a luxury boutique hotel, it’s full immersion in Mexican design (the onsite Cuarto de las Maravilla boutique showcases Mexican art and textiles by designer Carla Fernández, who also created the staff’s gorgeous uniforms), gastronomy (made by the country’s top chefs), wellness (a spa that incorporatesMayan mysticism) and experiences (like dinner at a cenote).

Nature meets design as sustainability-focused architect David Quintana conceived La Casa de la Playa as a living sculpture. Local rock and plants along with water are beautifully integrated into the common spaces and throughout the complex so that the resort peacefully coexists with the Riviera Maya’s tropical nature.

Nature is a big draw to this beachfront oasis surrounded by jungle. Each accommodation in this suite-only hotel overlooks a never-ending horizon of the Caribbean’s fathomless blue waters. And Casa de la Playa’s location is strategic for discovering the area’s incredible wonders like caves, waterfalls and rivers.
