VERIFIED LUXURY
Here are five things to know about us:
1. We verify luxury. Our highly trained inspectors visit every property we rate, evaluating based on up to 900 objective criteria. Our hotel stays span a minimum of two nights.
2. We pay our own way. No one can buy a rating; all ratings are earned through our objective inspection process.
3. Our global team of inspectors are anonymous at all times, so they have the same experience as a typical guest.
4. While we inspect both service and facility, our Star Rating system emphasizes service because your experience at a hotel, restaurant or spa goes beyond looks — how it makes you feel is what you will remember most.
5. We started in1958 as Mobil Travel Guide, and we created the original Five-Star rating system for hospitality.
Five-Star
These properties deliver an outstanding experience and consistently offer a highly customized level of service.
Four-Star
These are exceptional properties, offering high levels of service and quality of facility to match.
Recommended

The largest upscale hotel in Arizona, JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa sprawls across more than 300 acres in the Sonoran Desert, offering 950 rooms surrounded by golf courses with panoramic views of the McDowell Mountains.
Besides attractively landscaped grounds filled with palm trees, this oversized resort offers so many activities and amenities that you won’t want to leave the property. Take a swing at the two championship golf courses designed by Arnold Palmer and Nick Faldo. Then relax at Revive Spa, which offers a full menu of treatments along with a fitness center, Spa Bistro and separate swimming pool with cabanas.
But you’ll probably want to spend most of your time at the pool area. There are four different pools, each with its own theme, including a kid-friendly option with a lazy river and water slide, and the Wildfire pool featuring a waterfall lit with flames at night.
When you get hungry, you won’t want for choices. The resort features eight distinct restaurants, ranging from casual to fine dining. Top-Chef All Stars alum chef Angelo Sosa pays homage to his aunt and the heritage of local farmers at Tía Carmen. At Kembara, you’ll find Asian street food-inspired cuisine inspired by chef Sosa’s time traveling and cooking across Asia.
