San Régis Paris

A Parisian home-turned-haven
VERIFIED LUXURY

Designed in the 19th century as a hôtel particulier, or “private mansion,” San Régis Paris sits in what was then — and still is — one of the most covetable locales in the capital city. Tucked away on a more subdued side street in the “golden triangle,” which is flanked by avenues Montaigne, Georges V and the Champs-Élysées, the San Régis is a short stroll from landmarks like the Grand and Petit Palais, Arc de Triomphe and designer-clad shopping street Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré — and boutiques like Christian Dior and Louis Vuitton are just around the corner.

Renovated by interior design icon Pierre-Yves Rochon, the family-run boutique hotel, with its molded cornices and period arches, features 42 rooms and suites, each created as a modernized snapshot of the moment in time when the home was built. Featuring a neo-classical façade, crystal and bronze objets d’art, regal antique furniture and silk-lined walls sourced from some of the finest fabric maisons in France, it’s no surprise the San Régis has been a Hollywood and fashion favorite for nearly half a century.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Each room features a different design and décor, with hand-picked contemporary and period furnishings, fabrics and wallpapers from the likes of Hermès, Pierre Frey and Lelièvre. The Georges sisters — who are the owners and managers — are behind the most recent redesign of the beige, marble-lined lobby, which is sprinkled with subtle pops of pastels, as well as a statement-making bronze centerpiece chandelier.
  • The four Terrace Junior Suites are spread across the top two floors, and feature plant-filled terraces with tables ideal for enjoying breakfast or a coupe of champagne with views that open up to the Eiffel Tower.
  • This boutique hotel is for those who eschew cookie-cutter properties. The San Régis feels more like a lavish home with fashionable touches at every turn.
  • The winter garden-style restaurant Les Confidences sources artisanal ingredients from across the country for seasonally driven menu of refined French fare. Lunch is a set menu during the week, and on Sundays, you can indulge in a lavish brunch spread with champagne and tarts from haute Parisian pâtissier Hugo & Victor.
  • The Paris hotel offers an excellent location. It’s close to major sights, luxury shopping and more, yet it is removed from the hordes of tourists.

Things to Know

  • Meant to feel more like a mansion than hotel, San Régis lacks amenities like a fitness center and spa, but the attentive, butler-like service more than makes up for it. A Les Clefs d’Or concierge can also advise or arrange anything from reservations at some of the top spas and tables in town to tickets to one of the standout nearby theaters.
  • If you’re traveling with children or as a group, the Family Suite acts as an apartment-like space with two Deluxe rooms and a stately sitting room lined in wood paneling and gilded, framed paintings.
  • The 24-hour room service menu features a full breakfast option, as well as extensive selection of meals and light bites.
