The well-heeled 16th Arrondissement, home to Brach Paris, is both one of the city’s most residential neighborhoods and one of its most landmark-heavy. At the well-positioned hotel, you can distance yourself from the city’s heaviest foot traffic while still being a short stroll from the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe.

For one of his newer projects in the city, celebrated architect Philippe Starck re-envisioned an expansive, 1970s postal sorting center, embracing the feel of 1930s architecture and more masculine materials (warm woods, aged leather, marble and metal) while throwing in a blend of artistic styles from modernism to Bauhaus and surrealism.

The smattering of standing framed photographs, objets d’art, sculptures and beaded accent pieces — the items reflect elements from Africa, Asia and South America — offers a lived-in feel while inviting guests on a voyage of sorts as they head from the flame-focused ground-floor restaurant to an open-air hanging garden on the rooftop that shows off sweeping 360-degree views of the city.

All 59 rooms are generously sized, and even the entry-level Classics feature a gorgeous standing tub. On the fifth and sixth floors, Brach’s six suites are some of the city’s most spectacular, with terraces (a rarity in Paris) offering 180-degree views of rooftops — and a few even glimpsing toward the Eiffel Tower — and hot tubs.
Modeled after a 1930s boxing club, the Sports Club is among the most luxurious wellness centers in Paris. The club features a centerpiece 22-meter pool, thermal pool, a sauna, a hammam, a salt cave, an ice bath and a three-room spa with Clarins treatments. Guests can take part in a comprehensive fitness or nutrition program guided by sports coaches, osteopaths, naturopaths, physiotherapists and dietitians. And there’s a sizable schedule of group classes like aqua-bike and Pilates.
The first-floor terrace feels like you’ve slipped away to a chic island with its rich foliage, cocktail bar and seasonal menu of Greek artisanal specialties.
In summer, the rooftop turns into a Provence-inspired lounge dubbed Villa Minuty, in collaboration with French Riviera winery Chateâu Minuty. The space tries to transport you to St. Tropez with sunbeds and rosé amid a garden, though the panoramic views remind you that you’re in Paris.
While every room is different, they all have thoughtful touches. Take the minibar, which has been reimagined into a mini-store with pre-mixed cocktails, games and books that change with the season.
