VERIFIED LUXURY
Here are five things to know about us:
1. We verify luxury. Our highly trained inspectors visit every property we rate, evaluating based on up to 900 objective criteria. Our hotel stays span a minimum of two nights.
2. We pay our own way. No one can buy a rating; all ratings are earned through our objective inspection process.
3. Our global team of inspectors are anonymous at all times, so they have the same experience as a typical guest.
4. While we inspect both service and facility, our Star Rating system emphasizes service because your experience at a hotel, restaurant or spa goes beyond looks — how it makes you feel is what you will remember most.
5. We started in1958 as Mobil Travel Guide, and we created the original Five-Star rating system for hospitality.
Five-Star
These properties deliver an outstanding experience and consistently offer a highly customized level of service.
Four-Star
These are exceptional properties, offering high levels of service and quality of facility to match.
Recommended
These are excellent properties with consistently good service and facilities.

The Dominick is a welcome addition to the downtown hotel scene with its dramatic, two-story lobby outfitted in bronze and leather and columns of brown and metallic blue Venetian plaster. Straight ahead is a second-floor library with a fireplace, wine rack and cherry-blossom wallpaper.
Guest rooms have furnishings by Fendi Casa, custom-made Italian bedding by Bellino, thick wool carpeting, and in one-bedroom suites, a sliding hearth with built-in shelving that separates the sleeping quarters from the living space. Bathrooms have soaking tubs, rain showers and Turkish Marmara stone on the walls.
Terrace on 7 is an indoor-outdoor bar that overflows onto the Pool Deck, which features a blue Italian mosaic-lined pool with a cascading waterfall. The 11,000-square-foot Sisley Spa includes two separate luxury hammams for men and women, offering traditional services of heat, scrub and relaxation.

Our Inspector's Highlights
- The high-rise hotel features great views of the city and the Hudson River. Imagine soaking in your tub and gazing out at the Empire State Building. Just be sure to request a high floor; otherwise, you might be looking at the Holland Tunnel.
- Here, the space you get is perhaps the biggest luxury. The smallest room is a little more than 400 square feet with a seating area, a spacious bathroom and floor-to-ceiling windows that make everything appear more expansive.
- The Dominick is located on the edge of Soho, neighboring Tribeca and the West Village. If you’re in the city to shop, you’ve pretty much died and gone to retail heaven.
- It’s easy to pretend you went to sleep and woke up in Istanbul upon entering one of the spa's private hammams, and the Turkish/Moroccan bath treatments are a must.
- We love the soaring lobby with its Venetian plaster columns, handsome leather chairs neatly lined up against the wall.
Things to Know
- The Dominick welcomes kids. Its kids program offers cribs, bath amenities, maps with kid-friendly spots highlighted, children’s menus, board games and more.
- The 46-story glass tower offers views of the city and the Hudson through floor-to-ceiling windows. Reserve accommodations on a high floor, like the SoHi room or suite, for the most spectacular panoramas.
- The hotel ambassadors cater to your every need while on property. They can handle everything from stocking your fridge with all your favorite snacks to handling your dry cleaning to setting up a computer for you in your room.
The Rooms
- Regular guest rooms at the luxury hotel have small seating areas, while one-bedroom suites use sliding hearths that function as closets to separate the living and sleeping quarters.
- All rooms are furnished by Italian designer, Fendi Casa with printed leathers and rich fabrics. The modern furnishings and soothing color palette of cream, black and taupe create a stylish, contemporary feel.
- You’ll be happily surprised when you retreat to your bed after a long day of exploring Manhattan, as they are exceptionally plush with soft linens and super comfortable mattresses.
- The bathrooms are unique. Few SoHo apartments can boast bathrooms with a rain showerhead, a deep soaking tub — many with city views — and Turkish marble.
The Restaurants
- Vestry, a noted restaurant helmed by chef Shaun Hergatt, draws inspiration from his long-standing relationships with local producers and foragers. The seasonally driven menu focuses on artfully prepared seafood and vegetable dishes with global accents.
- Open in the summer, Terrace on 7 partners with El Takoy to offer a sampling of international street food and refreshing cocktails. The outdoor lounge pool, for the exclusive use of hotel guests, provides a respite while overlooking the cityscape. Reserve a cabana for a celebration.
