Conrad New York Downtown
Luxury in Lower Manhattan
VERIFIED LUXURY
Here are five things to know about us:
1. We verify luxury. Our highly trained inspectors visit every property we rate, evaluating based on up to 900 objective criteria. Our hotel stays span a minimum of two nights.
2. We pay our own way. No one can buy a rating; all ratings are earned through our objective inspection process.
3. Our global team of inspectors are anonymous at all times, so they have the same experience as a typical guest.
4. While we inspect both service and facility, our Star Rating system emphasizes service because your experience at a hotel, restaurant or spa goes beyond looks — how it makes you feel is what you will remember most.
5. We started in1958 as Mobil Travel Guide, and we created the original Five-Star rating system for hospitality.
Five-Star
These properties deliver an outstanding experience and consistently offer a highly customized level of service.
Four-Star
These are exceptional properties, offering high levels of service and quality of facility to match.
Recommended

Conrad New York Downtown leaves a memorable first impression. The atrium lobby is a showstopper with its 13-story, blue-and-purple Sol LeWitt mural — the respected artist’s largest work — reflecting azure hues onto the two-tiered, cable-and-aluminum sculpture by Monica Ponce de Leon.
The 463 suites take a more understated but still elegant tone, but select spacious accommodations have another visual element: views of the Hudson River, Battery Park and the Statute of Liberty.
Art and views aside, another standout feature at the New York hotel is its proximity to a variety of the Big Apple’s popular attractions, including the World Trade Center, the Brooklyn Bridge and the National September 11 Memorial Museum.
Families and couples will love the home-away-from-home feel, foodies will want to try the seasonal cuisine at ATRIO Wine Bar & Restaurant and business travelers will appreciate the property's proximity to the Financial District. Though the hotel’s masterpiece just may be its 16th-floor Loopy Doopy Rooftop Bar with vistas of the Hudson River, the Statue of Liberty and New York Harbor.

Our Inspector's Highlights
- The Conrad makes contemporary and modern art a core feature of the property with a 2,000-piece collection. One standout is German artist Imi Knoebel’s Mennige (Polygon) at the east entrance. The abstract piece looks like cherry-red rectangular forms in freewheeling motion.
- In a city known for cramped quarters, it’s refreshing to find suites where you can spread out. The Conrad is the only all-suite hotel in Lower Manhattan.
- Be sure to check out the Conrad’s Loopy Doopy Rooftop Bar and order the Prosecco & Ice Pop. The clever cocktail features a boozy icicle topped off with chilled bubbly or rosé, and the flavor changes monthly.
- With 30,000 square feet of space, Conrad New York Downtown boasts the largest hotel event venue in Lower Manhattan. Even more of an incentive to throw your event here: the catering is from celebrated restaurateur Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group (which includes esteemed restaurants like Gramercy Tavern and The Modern).
- Shopaholics don’t have to head uptown to find retail nirvana. High-end brands like Burberry, Gucci and Saks Fifth Avenue all have locations within Brookfield Place, right next door to the Conrad.
Things to Know
- Conrad New York Downtown offers a serene city respite any time of year, but is a particularly ideal stay during the Fourth of July (the rooftop terrace is a perfect perch for viewing the fireworks) and the busy holiday season (this Lower Manhattan hotel offers a reprieve from busier areas, like Rockefeller Center).
- There’s no onsite spa, but Conrad’s concierge can make you an appointment at one of the notable spas in nearby Tribeca.
- Download the Hilton Honors app to check in and select a room from your phone, and then use it as a digital key.
The Rooms
- Starting at 430 square feet, the spacious accommodations afford views of the NYC skyline, Hudson River, the Statute of Liberty and Liberty Island.
- Each suite comes with a separate living area and bedroom, while some offer sleeper sofas and connecting rooms, which makes them fitting for families.
- State-of-the-art technology allows you to control climate, lighting, room entry and the flat-screen TV, all with the touch of a button.
- Light and airy spa-inspired bathrooms offer luxurious rain showers, plush robes and separate water closets.
Nearby Attractions
- The closest and most notable attraction to Conrad New York Downtown is the National September 11 Memorial Museum, which sits directly across the street from the Battery Park hotel.
- Take in a movie without ever leaving the property. Simply stroll through the hotel lobby and up a few floors to the Regal Battery Park Stadium 11 theater, which houses 11 screens and plush reclining stadium-style seating.
- Foodies with a taste for some causal dining will want to visit the nearby Hudson Eats food court to try local favorites like Mighty Quinn’s BBQ, Umami Burger and Dig Inn Seasonal Market. For something a little more gourmet, Del Frisco’s Grille and celebrated chef Jose Garces’ tapas outpost Amada are both within Brookfield Place.
- Popular neighborhoods such as Tribeca, Soho and the Meatpacking District are a short walk or taxi ride from the luxury hotel.
