Hotel Montera Madrid, Curio Collection by Hilton

A contemporary beauty in the heart of the capital
VERIFIED LUXURY

Capturing the spirit behind the popular local expression “De Madrid al cielo” (“from Madrid to heaven”), Hotel Montera Madrid is a love letter to the Spanish capital, weaving the city’s celestial charm and emblematic cultural motifs throughout its interiors. Near the iconic Gran Vía boulevard, Hotel Montera Madrid blends contemporary luxury with Madrid’s castizo character, standing out as the first hotel in the capital under Hilton’s prestigious Curio Collection.

Head up to the reception area on the ninth floor, which crowns its 93 rooms, including eight suites, with panoramic city views and Madrid’s fabled blue skies. On this floor is an assembly of dining areas, salons and terraces, each showcasing artful interiors that wink at Madrid’s unique cultural identity — from its urban iconography and architectural marvels to an admiration for bullfighting.

The elegance of the ninth floor’s salons has been brought to life by the Spanish architect and interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán, renowned for his distinct style of marrying traditional elements with whimsical, unexpected touches. The hotel’s eclectic yet cozy atmosphere is a rich composition of ornate moldings meeting modern art, richly carved wood contrasting sleek finishes and nods to matador culture imbued throughout the space.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Unique meeting spaces offer dramatic outdoor backdrops. Two terraces, aptly named Terraza Sol and Terraza Sombra, are inspired by the sol y sombra (sun and shade) seating areas in traditional bullrings. Retractable rooftops allow guests to enjoy sun-drenched afternoons in the spring and summer, or sheltered comfort when temperatures drop during the colder seasons.
  • Salón Templo could veritably be on a magazine cover. Carved accent walls, detailed moldings and curated modern art and sculpture peer out picture windows overlooking Gran Vía. Reminiscent of an art collector’s private library, this stylish space is ideal for executive meetings, cocktail parties or private gatherings.
  • Eight suites feature a freestanding bathtub, living areas that open up to balconies with scenic views, and private label amenities.
  • Acoustic-insulated windows create serene indoor settings, despite the hotel’s location at the heart of the bustling boulevard.
  • Head up to the open-air roofdeck to unwind at El Cielo de Montera, the pool and lounge area filled with tapas and tipples that unfolds against a dramatic backdrop.
  • La Braserí is a stylish dining destination with spectacular skyline vistas. Beneath a striking painted ceiling depicting a cosmic collage of constellations and Madrid’s iconic landmarks and famous figures, guests can indulge in an ample selection of classic Spanish tapas and Mediterranean cuisine. An inviting central bar with sculptural stools draws guests in to linger over cocktails.
