Our Inspector's Highlights
• In the evenings, a live four-piece band accompanied by traditional Chinese instruments such as the erhu and pipa entertains Grand Hyatt Macau guests.
• The incredibly extensive breakfast buffet at mezza9 presents an eclectic array of freshly made dishes. Just a few of those choices include dim sum, fried rice, made-to-order eggs, flaky pastries, tropical fruits, fresh juices, congee, noodles, smoothies, dried fruits, muesli, and a variety of cereals with milk.
• The luxurious 40-meter infinity pool at the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Grand Hyatt Macau is temperature controlled so you never feel too warm under the hot sun or too cold when the wind picks up. We especially liked the pool’s shallow lounge section, where you can lay back on lounge chairs submerged in the water.
• The service is fantastic at Grand Hyatt Macau, with staff members eager to make your stay as comfortable as it can be. Don’t hesitate to make special requests at this hotel, because the staff will make every attempt to satisfy your needs.
• The tea at Beijing Kitchen includes traditional Chinese teas range from earthy fermented Yunnan pu-erh tea that’s been fermented and aged 25 years to the subtle Huo Shan yellow-bud tea to artisan blossoming teas that open up before your eyes.
Things to Know
• For a peaceful holiday, travelers might want to visit the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel during a quiet time when there are no holidays or special festivals happening. If excitement is what you crave, then weekends and bank holidays like Chinese New Year, Golden Week (October 1st) or a Grand Prix racing event would be the best time to visit.
• The City of Dreams casino is flashy and exciting in design, swarming with people and brimming full of money. Take a walk through the mahjong room where elderly Chinese ladies and gentlemen will give you a run for your money.
• Don’t worry about forgetting something at home. Your room comes complete with universal adapters, dental kits, shaving kits, combs, cotton swabs, and a range of other amenities, and down at the gym, shorts, sneakers, and headphones are provided free of charge.
• Make sure to check whether your room includes the evening cocktail session at the Grand Club Lounge. The session features a limited buffet and a self-serve bar with a variety of spirits, liqueurs, and mixers, as well as wine, champagne, and beer.
• In case you’re flying in and out of Macau, the Four-Star Grand Hyatt is a stone’s throw from the Macau airport. It’s also a short taxi ride from the Taipa ferry terminal, if you’re arriving by sea.
The Rooms
• The guest rooms at the Four-Star Grand Hyatt Macau are distinctly modern, serene and opulent in style. Throughout your room, you’ll notice an emphasis on defined lines, right angles, geometric shapes, and bright whites contrasting shades of tan and dark browns.
• A king-size bed dominates the expansive bedroom, which has stunning floor-to-ceiling windows and a 42-inch, flat-screen TV mounted on the opposite wall.
• The bathroom design is very unique, with a shower and bath area completely encased in glass, and the other areas separated from the bedroom by sliding doors made of dark wood. A one-panel shade can be drawn to shield the transparent bathing area from the rest of the room.
• The matching bathtub resembles an egg; just next to it is the luxurious shower. You’ll have two water flows to choose between: a rainfall shower from a broad, circular shower head suspended from the ceiling, or a detachable regular shower head, which can also be used mounted on the wall.
• If you’d like a spacious room with a view, we suggest you consider the Grand Executive Suite. The 775-square-foot corner suite has a separate living room and bedroom, and it overlooks the beautiful west bank of the Pearl River Delta.
The Look
• The design style of Grand Hyatt Macau is sleek and modern with a healthy dose of panache. Though the Four-Star hotel is in one of the most glittering capitals in Asia, it has a more international style that would be right at home anywhere.
• Modern artwork adds splashes of color and funky shapes to neutral walls. Christmas-tree-shaped structures covered in sequins make for bright red pyramids lining the entrance out front, and bright fuchsia pyramids dotting the public spaces throughout.
• In the lobby, large hanging teardrop-shaped sculptures and cascading light fixtures that look like bubbles are suspended from the ceiling. Expanses of marble, stone and gorgeous views all around make Grand Hyatt Macau stylish and fresh.
• From the sprawling buffet tables at mezza9 to the areas leading to the meeting rooms, the public spaces are spacious and airy with ceilings that seem to go on forever.
