Looking at pictures of Viceroy Los Cabos, it’s difficult to imagine that this stunning piece of architecture actually exists. However, the expansive reflecting pools, nest-like canopies and floor-to-ceiling walls of glass are even more spectacular in person.

The property’s location in San Jose del Cabo means it’s just 20 minutes from the airport and five minutes from coveted Cabo-area attractions, including the many art galleries in downtown San Jose del Cabo.

But proximity is only one of the property’s positive attributes. Fans of contemporary architecture will appreciate the clean lines of Mexico City-based Miguel Angel Aragonés, who created one of the only properties in the region free of the expected palapas and artisanal tile.

Couples looking for a romantic getaway will swoon for the Beachside Bliss Package, which offers romantic welcome amenities, curated room décor, daily breakfast, an interactive couples massage and a private beachfront dinner experience.
Whether you’re doing the galloping yourself or just observing, the horseback rides along the beach in front of the resort are a thing of beauty.
Four restaurants provide a range of options, but all of them focus on organic ingredients. Plan to arrive just before sunset for dinner at Cielomar Rooftop, the restaurant and lounge featuring locally caught seafood, premium steaks and wood-fired cooking.
The expansive gym, designed by Harley Pasternak, the personal trainer for a-listers like Rihanna, Kim Kardashian and Ariana Grande, feels like a sleek, adult playground.
The avant-garde design instantly catches your eye, from the suites that appear to float to the vast swimming pools that cover the grounds.

Things to Know

Most Cabo resort beaches in Cabo are not swimmable, including The Viceroy's. However, during the humpback whale's migration season from December to April, keep your eyes peeled. Whales are frequently spotted splashing in the surf around the hotel.
While Cabo San Lucas is known for its nightlife, San Jose also offers a variety of restaurants and bars tailored to a more mature audience.
Check the resort’s programming before you go. Shopping pop-ups, theater screenings and culinary activations are constantly being offered.

The Rooms

In addition to 189 guest rooms, Viceroy Los Cabos provides 50 residences that are available for rent. Some of them are equipped with private rooftop pools and outdoor kitchens.
The property debuted two-, three- and five-bedroom residences for larger groups and gatherings in 2019. The villas are just steps from the ocean and are flexibly designed to suit bachelorette parties, golf trips and family vacations.
Still, the standard guest rooms hardly disappoint. They offer a calming mix of white-on-white, with accents of natural stones and light woods. Suites, on the other hand, have oversize soaking tubs. But thankfully, all rooms come with a private patio.

The verticality of the resort makes it easier to get around, especially for groups who might normally be spread out.
