Hard Rock Hotel London, Ontario

A music-fueled place to play and stay
VERIFIED LUXURY
As the first Hard Rock Hotel in Canada, Hard Rock Hotel London, Ontario brings an excitement and rock star energy to the city. It’s most evident upon seeing the 32-foot-high metallic guitar that stands in front of the hotel, a massive statement piece that signals your arrival to a music lover’s paradise.

Recognized as Canada’s first UNESCO City of Music, London, Ontario, has had a long history of vibrant arts and culture, with a live music scene that rivals that of big cities. Plus, it has the lore to match — Johnny Cash proposed to June Carter in 1968 on stage at the London Gardens.

The hotel is at 100 Kellogg Lane, home to the old Kellogg’s cereal factory, first founded in 1905 and recently re-imagined into a modern entertainment hub for children and adults. But Hard Rock Hotel London, Ontario provides its own music-themed fun, from a guitar-shaped platter of treats for afternoon tea to a Sound of Your Stay program with Hard Rock-style room service, where guests can order a guitar, headphones, a turntable and vinyl records, during their stay.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • A fun, modern Hard Rock experience with a Canadiana theme starts with the 32-foot-high metallic guitar, handcrafted locally in London, signaling your arrival, complete with bright lights and a red-carpet entry. A painting of Drake in his Summer Sixteen era watches over the lobby, while a costumed Shawn Mendes and a Michael Bublé work made of recycled records, provide backup. Other memorabilia and décor from Celine Dion, Shania Twain (her iconic leopard-print outfit), Gord Downie of the Tragically Hip, and deadmau5 are found all over the hotel, a surprise down each hallway.
  • There are music-themed amenities to amp up or relax, like a gym session at the well-equipped Body Rock Fitness Center, or the heated, indoor-outdoor pool that features an underwater music system, cabana-style recliners and poolside food and drink offerings during the summer.
  • Sessions Restaurant & Bar offers breakfast until 4 p.m. (unapologetically accommodating that rock star life), lunch and dinner with playful nods to the space’s Kellogg’s history with dishes like Corn Flake fried chicken and waffles or Timbit-inspired Froot Loop and Corn Pop doughnut holes.
  • The hotel’s 1913 Speakeasy cocktail bar is hidden away with only a room number to indicate its location. Inside, vinyl album covers and retro cereal ads decorate the space for a touch of nostalgia. Drink offerings include mocktails, boozy milkshakes and showy, tableside, molecular-style cocktails like the Smokey Bear that arrives in a puff of smoke, or the Sip Happens, with a swirl of cotton candy.
  • Great for a play-and-stay getaway, the hotel is at 100 Kellogg Lane, a massive 1 million-square-foot industrial-turned-cool space with plenty of attractions. The London Children’s Museum offers interactive exhibits for exploration and learning for kids of all ages, and The Factory is Canada’s largest indoor adventure park with the highest indoor rope course in North America, 145 feet of zip lines and a more than 20,000-square-foot trampoline park. Adults can enjoy The Club House, with duckpin bowling, mini golf and other simulators, or refuel at the casual Beer Kitchen, Papi’s steakhouse, Powerhouse smokehouse for barbecue, or Paradigm for spirits.
