Park Hyatt Jakarta

A vertical rainforest above Colonial Menteng
VERIFIED LUXURY
Park Hyatt Jakarta, Indonesia's first from the brand, occupies the top 17 floors of the obsidian Park Tower in the leafy, colonial-era Menteng district. London-based Conran and Partners conceived the interiors as a vertical rainforest narrative, anchored by a ground-floor lobby clad in lava stone and towering crystal installations that evoke a tropical downpour, suffused with the hotel's proprietary Baccarat wood scent.

Rooms lean into the same conceptual duality: a dark central passage leads past a deep soaking tub, rainfall shower and separate dressing room before opening into a bright, airy bedroom framed by floor-to-ceiling views of Monas, Indonesia's gilded National Monument.

Locally sourced touchstones abound, from handwoven ikat textiles and lava stone to copper suntiang (the ornate bridal headdresses of West Sumatra) displayed as art.On the culinary side, offerings run the gamut from skyline-view shabu-shabu to live-fire Italian and Indonesian delicacies.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Park Hyatt Jakarta’s Menteng address puts Monas and Istiqlal, the largest mosque in Southeast Asia, within arm’s reach. You’ll get a bird’s-eye view of these iconic monuments on the elevator ride up to the 23rd-floor lobby.
  • Arrival is handled at individual desks rather than a central counter, with a cold drink and biscuits offered throughout— a small detail that signals the luxury hotel’s residential air rather than a transactional feel.
  • Even the 613-square-foot city-view king feels like a private apartment rather than an entry-level hotel room. Moody dark marble bathrooms provide a soothing retreat with deep soaking tubs and luxurious Le Labo Bergamote 22 amenities.
  • The spa’s hydro-pool complex is gender-separated, with women's facilities including a flotation pool and the men's side having a cold-immersion plunge. The rooftop lap pool has sweeping Jakarta skyline views, best experienced at dusk as the city lights come on and the daytime crowds thin.
  • Park Hyatt Jakarta coordinates requests via WhatsApp, a practical touch in a city where navigating logistics can be exhausting.

The Restaurants

  • Dining Room anchors Park Hyatt Jakarta’s culinary program, pairing Indonesian specialties with regional Italian cooking in a live-kitchen format. Breakfast here is a particular highlight with a well-curated buffet of East-meets-West options.
  • Named for the lotus flower, Cantonese restaurant Li Lián Park Lounge unfolds across a series of domestic-feeling spaces (a tea bar, living rooms, verandahs and private dining chambers) that’s framed by Jakarta's skyline. Delicately prepared dim sum and xiao long bao (soup dumplings) are best paired with floral teas, while chef Victor Yuan's rambutan wood-fired Peking duck is the highlight.
  • The 37th-floor Kita covers teppanyaki, shabu-shabu and robatayaki under one roof, with nine private rooms offering tactical vantage points across the city. Each room has customizable music and lighting, details that elevate private celebrations.
  • Divided into four distinct zones (Library, Living Room, Patisserie and open-air Veranda), Conservatory functions as the Jakarta hotel's all-day social hub, equally suited to a working lunch or a whimsical afternoon tea with Monas views.
  • The Bar, just off the lobby, is a classy circular sunken space. Kita Bar on Level 36 opens to a terrace with sunset vistas over Monas, pairing signature cocktails with izakaya-style small plates.
