Across from Boston Public Garden and surrounded by upscale boutiques, The Newbury Boston’s address comes with a rich history: the 1927 building’s first tenant was one of the country’s first Ritz-Carlton outposts.
The landmark building’s design remains true to its heritage with classic architecture (the lobby has wainscoting and gleaming black-and-pearl herringbone floors) layered with modern elements (fantastic works from local artists punctuate the public spaces).

The Newbury’s Contessa spans the rooftop with retractable glass walls and ceilings that allow for sweeping views of the Back Bay all year long. It’s the first Massachusetts outlet from Major Food Group, a powerhouse hospitality company that started in New York’s Little Italy and created Carbone, Sadelle’s, Parm and more.
