InterContinental Boston

A sleek property on the scenic harborfront
VERIFIED LUXURY
InterContinental Boston sits on Boston’s waterfront, just steps from Faneuil Hall and the up-and-coming Seaport District. The 424-room hotel opened in 2006, giving Bostonians a place to gather on the water.

In addition to the stunning view, InterContinental Boston has three different dining choices, a spa and health club, and expansive meeting space. All of the Italian marble and Texas limestone lining the lobby and hallways are certainly attractive qualities, too.

In an effort to help boost its greener options, InterContinental Boston also established a beehive on its roof, allowing the production of fresh honey for the hotel’s dishes and cocktails.

Our Inspector's Highlights
  • The 22-story property also houses residences between the 14th and 21st floors and a revolving boutique on the lobby level, which features local designers and artists throughout the year.
  • There are three restaurants and bars at InterContinental Boston and one large outdoor venue deck. Matria is a northern Italian steakhouse with a popular waterfront patio; the soon-to-open Loyall Counting Room offers a colonial-era-influenced cocktail experience; and Bar Fellini serves Italian cocktails and wine and antipasti.
  • All of the guest rooms offer views of either the skyline or the waterfront. For members of Club InterContinental, the 12th floor of the Boston hotel is the members-only retreat, where you’ll find workspace areas, a private boardroom for up to eight people and culinary presentations three times a day.
  • During the summer months, the hotel’s two-acre garden is a hot spot for Bostonians looking for a great place to enjoy the fresh air and sun. Get here early, though, as this is one of the few outdoor and on-the-water dining venues in Boston, so the place fills up quickly on pleasant days.
Things to Know
  • During the winter months, you’ll find that the hotel shifts from a mostly leisure-travel guest roster to a more business-minded crowd, thanks in part to its easy access to Boston’s Financial District.
  • During the warmer months, the InterContinental Gardens — a two-acre waterfront promenade outside the Boston hotel along the Fort Point Channel — serves various items from each of the hotel's dining venues. If you’d like to experience the gardens, get there early, especially in the summer — the green space works on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • The hotel is close to various financial offices, including the World Trade Center and International Place. It’s steps from the Boston Greenway parks and Faneuil Hall, and sits just across the channel from the Boston Children’s Museum and ferry docks.
  • For those arriving to the city by train, Boston’s South Station is just two blocks from the property.
