When some people think of Connecticut, they envision khaki-clad preppies, or charming coastal fishing villages, or rolling hills dotted with antiques emporiums. All would be correct. A tiny state of less than four million residents, Connecticut has plenty of diversity to offer travelers. For starters, the Constitution State has the mildest climate in New England. It also has an entire southern border on Long Island Sound, with sandy beaches filled with sun worshippers in the summer. Its capital, Hartford, is home to insurance companies, banks and the nation’s first newspaper. But after exploring this compact area, most travelers will remember Connecticut fondly as a beautiful state full of grand old summer homes, charming, historic towns, endless green pastures, and the occasional fleet of mega yachts that fill the harbor in upscale Greenwich.
