Home to NATO, Brussels is the capital of the European Union and has the international population to prove it. Belgium has not one, but three official languages (French, Flemish and German), though you’ll regularly hear French spoken in Brussels.
 
The birthplace of art nouveau, Tintin and Godiva, Belgium has much to brag about. And that includes its cuisine, which, in Brussels, is a spectacular mixture of French and Flemish influences that has led to a collection of world-renowned restaurants. But Brussels doesn’t take itself too seriously, and shows its sense of humor in its eclectic public art. Here, you can rub elbows with diplomats, take in the splendor of the 15th-century Grand-Place and sip some of the best beer in the world.
