Palazzo Versace Macau

Lavish Italian luxury in Cotai
VERIFIED LUXURY

With a name like Versace on its masthead, it makes sense that the newly debuted Palazzo Versace Macau would have sky-high style standards. Under the creative direction of Donatella Versace herself, the luxury hotel’s interiors are a masterclass in Italian decadence — marble is the building material of choice while stylized columns, mosaic-patterned floors and richly dyed fabrics bring a regal Roman aesthetic to the lavish retreat.

The designer-branded hotel is the latest addition to the Grand Lisboa Palace luxury entertainment complex, joining a slew of stellar eateries, world-class shopping and proximity to the high-rolling casinos of the Cotai Strip. With its Italian influence and Chinese motifs, the opulent Palazzo Versace Macau encapsulates the larger resort’s East-meets-West stylings and makes a striking first impression for the brand’s first foray into Asia.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Fans of the luxury Italian fashion house will appreciate the attention to detail paid in Palazzo Versace Macau’s design. Nods to the brand’s heritage include extensive mosaic tile work (ranging from the pools to the bathrooms) and a few appearances from Versace’s iconic Medusa logo.
  • Naturally, the Macau hotel’s 270 guest rooms and suites are all outfitted with Versace Home collection furnishings. Brightly colored bedspreads and ornately decorated pillows are among the spaces’ vibrant highlights.
  • Luxe, spa-like bathrooms might tempt you to turn your getaway into a staycation. Clad entirely in Italian marble, the spacious retreats feature deep soaking tubs stocked with Versace-branded bath amenities and accented with hand-laid mosaics that make you feel like Roman royalty.
  • As stylish as it is sumptuous, The Spa at Palazzo Versace Macau is an eye-catching floral affair. A hand-laid mosaic tile floor, freeform crystal chandelier and pink-hued furniture embrace the soft touch of flowers and lull you into a state of serenity.
  • Southern Italian opulence comes to Macau at Don Alfonso 1890, the signature dining room of Palazzo Versace Macau. The lavish venue literally brings the flavors of the Amalfi Coast to Cotai by importing key ingredients like San Marzano tomatoes and Namonte lemons for its most popular dishes.

The Look

  • Among the fashionable hotel’s stylish highlights is extensive mosaic tile work overseen by Milan-based architectural design firm Fantini Mosaici. Artisans laid more than six million hand-cut tiles across Palazzo Versace Macau’s 20 floors in a spectacular show of Italian opulence.
  • Palazzo Versace Macau’s lobby alone boasts more than one million individually laid tiles, resulting in a stylized interpretation of the brand’s celebrated Medusa logo.
  • Two stunning swimming pools artfully embody the luxury hotel’s Italy-meets-China theme with the help of more than 3.5 million Italian glass and marble mosaic tiles. The custom-designed Versace pools feature Medusa alongside Chinese dragons, flowers and other traditional symbols of prosperity, wealth and good fortune.
  • A hallmark of Versace designs, bold primary colors are used sporadically throughout the posh property in bedspreads, artwork and even in the architecture (look for the coral-hued stairwell at the spa) to bring a brightness to otherwise stark white spaces.
